Back in 2003, when I heard that 4 children had drowned at the beach in Jacksonville, Florida, due to the strong currents and undertows, my heart cried out for the parents, because I know how much it hurts when you lose your children. I lost mine under different circumstances, so I know the hurt that a person feels when they lose someone close to them. I prayed to God to give me an idea that will help save children from drowning. The idea came to me, Why not use a lifejacket and a safety line, that way if the current pulled the child out into the water, the lifejacket would keep them afloat and the safety line would only let them go out no more than 14 feet. The anchor that the safety line is connected to goes down 18 inches into the sand, so when the swift current pulls the child out, the spring-loaded retractable line would take the shock of the sudden jerk and the anchor would prevent the child from going out any further. The tassels on the sides of the handlebars make it easy for pedestrians to see, so they will not trip over it. They will be able to notice the children in the area. also check the lock that hooks up to the safety line in the back

of the jacket to make sure that everything is secured properly.

4. Make sure that the shaft is screwed down into the ground at least

18 inches and take your foot and press all around the shaft so that

sand is pressed tightly around the shaft.

5. Judge the distance of how many feet out into the water that you

want your child to go.

6. Make sure that you have the streamers connected to the"Beach Babysitter''

so that it will be noticeable to people who are walking around it.

The safety line is made to swivel around the shaft which also helps

to keep the child from getting tangled up. It also is retractable, the

line will go out 14 feet and as the child comes back in, the line will

retract back into the case. When finished using the "Beach Babysitter"

you need to rinse it off with fresh water. A little rust might occur, clean

it off with soft scrub. Also spray on some type of lubricant. This will help

to stop rusting on the bottom of the shaft.

(2) Surviving a rip current Rip currents are powerful, channeled currents of water flowing away from shore that can sweep even the strongest swimmer out to sea. The currents typically extend from the shoreline and past the line of breaking waves. Rip currents can occur at any beach with breaking waves.Clickon this link. http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/051207/nen_169042712.shtml
